Call for Project Proposals within the Youth Fund for Local Youth Initiatives

Post by katarina »

Center for Democracy Foundation is officially launching the open Call for Proposals for the Youth Fund „Local Youth Initiatives“ within the framework of the project Regional Youth Dialogue for Europe funded by the European Union for civil society organizations including youth organizations and women organizations registered in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Youth Fund for Local Youth Initiatives offers grants to support civil society organizations in implementing projects aimed at enhancing and advancing participatory youth policies within Western Balkan communities. This is achieved by backing youth-driven initiatives and promoting active citizenship, as well as encouraging young people’s involvement in monitoring reforms and policies that affect youth in the region.

If your initiative aligns with the goal of improving participatory youth policies and fostering active youth engagement in the Western Balkans, we encourage you to apply. The Youth Fund for Local Youth Initiatives is open to supporting projects that empower young people and civil society organizations to drive positive change and contribute to monitoring reforms and policies that impact youth in the region.

Project proposals within this Call will be submitted in a two-step procedure: 1st step - Concept Note phase and 2nd step - Full application phase.

Deadline for submitting concept notes is 8th May 2024 by 20:00 (Belgrade time).

Applicants must apply in English, online to the email address: youthfund@centaronline.org.

You can find the complete details of the call through this link: http://www.centaronline.org/en/event/13 ... es-is-open

Is it necessary for the organization to be youth-led, or can the project be managed by youth under a non-youth registered NGO?

The "Local Youth Initiatives" Youth Fund Call for Proposals is open to both youth organizations and civil society organizations (CSOs) that meet all the criteria outlined on page 10 of the applicant guidelines. There is no requirement for the organization to be led by youth. Youth can lead the project within an CSO, even if the organization itself is not officially registered as a youth-led entity.

The Certificate of Authorized Person is an official document issued by the relevant national authorities (such as a business registration agency, court decision, or other country-specific institutions). It verifies the individual who is authorized to represent the applicant organization. This certificate is crucial for signing documents like the Annex V - Declaration of Responsibility, the agreement between the applicants and the Administrator, and other related documents.

Hope this helps:)

I looked through the requirements and info regarding this project, and somewhere I have seen that you mention indirect costs, that amount to 7% of the total direct costs. Could you elaborate on what exactly are indirect costs?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Tin,

Indirect costs refer to expenses related to the general functioning and infrastructure of the organization. Examples include office rent, utilities (water, gas, electricity), maintenance, insurance, office supplies, phone bills, internet charges, postage, and similar operational costs.

Hope this clarifies your question!

I am interested in the timeline of grant payout. How will the grant payments be distributed? Is the full amount paid at the start of the project, or will it be disbursed in multiple installments?

The grant will be paid out in two installments. The initial payment, which constitutes 70% of the total grant, will be made at the beginning of the project. A first interim report must be submitted after the first six months of implementation. Once the report is approved, the remaining 30% will be disbursed.
